Destination Guide
Travel to the Bay of Islands on a bus tour from Auckland.
The far North of New Zealand is considered a sub-tropical paradise and enjoys warm weather most of the year. Heading North from Auckland we'll stop off en-route for a chance to swim at scenic Waipu Cove before cruising up to Paihia for a relaxing afternoon in the stunning Bay, or when the weather is a bit colder we stop at Parry Kauri Forest Park (free) to hug a few beautiful old native Kauri trees before traveling express to Paihia.
Paihia is famous for world-class diving, water activities and dolphin spotting and the New Zealand locals love to holiday up here. If you want to get right up to Cape Reinga at the very top of the North Island to see the two oceans (the Pacific Ocean and Tasman sea) visibly collide and the place Maori believe is the departure point for Maori souls leaving New Zealand to go back to their spiritual homeland of Hawaiki, you'll need to choose the Far North Pass
