Hike up to the 1578m summit and be awe-inspired by the breathtaking views of Lake Wanaka and the surrounding mountain ranges. This walk is becoming ever more popular thanks to photos on social media so we'd recommend going early on a weekday to beat the crowds!
The track starts at the Roys Peak Track car park on the Mount Aspiring Road near Wanaka.
At times of high use, during summer, consider walking or cycling to the car park (via the Waterfall Creek Track that links to the Roys Peak Track) as there is limited parking available. Stray passengers will need to hop of in Wanaka and organise transport to the start of the track as the bus does not stop here.
Track itself is a 16km return track that can be completed in approximately 5-6 hours.
