Callery Gorge Walk

This 5.2km walk through the Callery Gorge will take you around an hour to an hour and a half. The walk takes you along the Tatare Tunnels Track and up behind the Franz Josef Waiau township, through native rainforest and alongside a historical gold mining water race and some interesting relics from the gold mining era. 

You'll cross the historic Callery Gorge bridge with views across the gorge and the river. 

Start this walk from the end of Cowan Street in the Franz Josef township.
