Combined into one museum, the World of Wearable Art and the Classic Cars are two unique, iconic and must-see galleries based in Nelson city. A world-class collection of classic cars can be viewed alongside incredible wearable works of art from all around the globe.
The Wearable Art Gallery
This gallery focuses on formidable, creative and imaginative wearable art that is inspired by flora, fauna and the cultures of the South Pacific. Seventy different costumes are presented from different artists around the world, including award-wining creations. The entire exhibition is changed in April and November each year in order to give other talented artist the change to show their creations.
Classics Car Gallery
This gallery reflects on changes during the years within the automotive industry, including trends, technology developments and major events for this industry. Some of the presented Classic automotives have undergone extensive restoration to highlight the art of the unique machinery.
