It all started with a detour
Back in 2002, we set out to show travellers a side of New Zealand most visitors never see.
The hidden bays, small towns, local characters and unexpected stops that don't always make the brochures, but often become the highlight of the trip.
What began as a different way to travel quickly became something bigger. Travellers weren't just looking for transport between destinations. They wanted local knowledge, meaningful experiences and the freedom to discover places beyond the tourist trail.
