Flexible New Zealand Tours and Activities
THRILL SEEKERS
New Zealand, and Queenstown in particular is known as the adventure capital of the world so if you’re keen to throw yourself off something (bridge, ledge, plane, tower) there’s no other place better.
Skydiving
There are many beautiful places to skydive in New Zealand however the most popular is in Taupo overlooking NZ’s largest lake. This often rates as our most popular activity as it’s usually once in a lifetime experience! Other great scenic skydiving spots include Abel Tasman, Fox and Franz Josef Glacier, Wanaka and Queenstown.
Bungy Jumping
New Zealand is the home of bungy jumping so you should definitely have a go! The originals - AJ Hackett bungy have jumps in Auckland (off the harbour bridge) and Queenstown (check out the Nevis - 134m, or do ‘the Thrillogy’ - all three!)
Another jump we recommend is the Sky Jump in Auckland – it’s technically not a bungy (you don’t bounce) but you still get to jump off something high – so high it’s the second highest building in the Southern Hemisphere - the iconic Sky Tower in Auckland.
Rafting
We have some awesome rafting in New Zealand, we believe that one of the best companies is Kaitiaki in Rotorua who have a variety of trips including one that takes you over the highest commercially-rafted waterfall in the world! They also do sledging which is heading down the rapids on boogie boards with helmets and flippers (not for the faint-hearted). You can do this on the way south from Auckland (Maketu to Taupo travel day) or on the way north (Wellington - Rotorua travel day). Another great place to raft is the Rangitata Gorge with Rangitata Rafts. We overnight in the beautiful spot of Rangitata so it's easy for you to do this trip.
For something different try 'black water rafting' in Waitomo – this is coasting in a tyre inner tube under the ground in caves over 20 million years old!
If you’re into abseiling/repelling the Waitomo guys have another couple of incredible options where you abseil down into caves, check out glowworms and end up rock climbing back out!
And……
Zorbing in Rotorua, which is hurling in yourself down a hill while being enclosed in a plastic ball! Canyon Swing in Queenstown where you’ll swing through the mighty Shotover Canyon; sailing on an America’s Cup boat in Auckland Harbour with Explore NZ, jet boating, mountain biking, quad biking, helihiking, heliskiing……. You get the picture!
