Flexible New Zealand Tours

HOW DO YOU WANT TO USE YOUR PASS?

Depending on your time and situation - you can choose to use your Stray pass as a bus tour whereby you basically stay with the bus the whole journey - doing all the cool things along the way... or if you have time you can really explore New Zealand, maybe stop to do some work somewhere and get to know the locals - and then just hop back on the bus whenever you want.

For instance if you had 4 weeks to travel New Zealand and really want to see the South Island:

You may go for the Maximus pass - 28 days - which would be packed full of adventure cruising with the same group of travellers around all of New Zealand (though it does have free days in Abel Tasman, Franz Josef and Queenstown included to catch your breath and have time to do some activities).

Or perhaps the Ron Pass - 14 days – just focusing on the South Island leaving you a couple of weeks spare to better explore one place, just chill out or maybe do a walk like the Milford Track.

Use our quick pass finder ‘Explore Passes’ section to find the right pass for you by determining how much time you have and where you want to start.

If you're not sure, we're here to help!

We are always here to help with expert knowledge on how to get the most of your time in New Zealand. If you want to ask us questions about anything (big or small) - then post a message in the questions section in the Travellers’ Lounge, or email us at sales@straytravel.co.nz - particularly if you’re short on time and have some ‘must-sees’ we can suggest flights and/or train journeys to supplement your Stray pass so you can fit everything in.

In July 2007 we booked on the stray bus from Auckland, on the Short Moe pass.
I have always worked in customer service related industries, and have never personally felt the need to write a letter of appreciation or of complaint before in my life.
We had numerous bus drivers on the route, But James who drives on the north Island most certainly stood out from the rest! He really made the whole group's trip with great knowledge of New Zealand, good sense of humour and an infectious personality. He is a great attribute to your company.
I have just got back home from travelling around the world, along the way I have recommended The Stray bus to many travellers stopping off in NZ.
The world is so big and there are so many countries to see and things to do, so it is very rare I would ever go back to the same country or to re-do an activity, But New Zealand and the stray bus are definitely and exception to this. I cant wait to do it all over again. Keep up the good work and all the best for 2008
