ARTS AND CRAFTS

Travelling on the Stray bus is not all about jumping out of planes and hiking through the bush, it’s also about ‘art and culture’! There are some great opportunities for you to see local arts and crafts as well participate in some yourself!

Te Papa Museum

We encourage all our passengers to spend the afternoon in Te Papa our national museum while in Wellington. Te Papa always has great art and history exhibitions that are free to view as well as temporary exhibitions that are only a small fee.

On our East Cape you have the option to participate in a number of local Maori crafts including bone carving and weaving. We visit the church at a town called Tikitiki which contains some of the most intricate Maori carvings you’ll ever see.

Virtual Tour

Just came back to Christchurch - I did the RON Pass (South Island + South Circuit) with Stray and it was just awesome. Cool drivers, good information, save travel, met lots of pretty cool people, doesn't matter if ur traveling alone, or in a group, you will have good fun!
Most people can't decide between Magic, KIWI, Contici and Stray...
Let's say it so:
1) KIWI: Party + seeing the country
2) Magic: Seeing the Country while sleeping (?!)
3) Contici: Party + "who cares about the country? I'm too drunk!"
4)Stray: Seeing the Country + Party

This shud make it easier for you to decide - i can just recommend it! Sweet as :-)
