Native Tree Planting
Stray has started a new initiative in conjunction with The Barn, Abel Tasman hostel where each group that stays at The Barn has the chance to plant a native tree while they're there. The Barn is run by two ex-Stray drivers, Cougar and Aerial who are both committed to the environment, helping reduce our carbon footprint and educating our customers. The aim is to repopulate the Barn's land on the Abel Tasman National Park boundary with native trees, shrubs and grasses to help the balance of our delicate eco-system. The first tree was planted on May 21st 2010 with Stray bus driver Captain Planet and his crew.

This is a great opportunity for Stray customers to give back and provide a lasting reminder of their time in New Zealand. We encourage people to come back in future years to view their tree!
Cougar from the Barn has said 'We look forward to incoming Stray passengers sharing our passion, getting some soil under their finger nails and helping us to make a difference. We trust that those of you that have taken part enjoyed it and those of you who are yet to visit look forward to get’n down and dirty in the bushes!! We hope planting will inspire the eco warrior within you to continue making a difference as you travel this country and the World.
