I'm doing the Max pass at the end of next month but I have 2 months to do it in. Where would you recommend spending the extra time? ...as I don't want to end up rushing the North Island and then having loads of time left at the end, but similarly don't want to spend too long at the beginning and then find places I would have liked to stay longer in the South Island!!
Also with regards to weather (?!) what would you recommend clothingwise as I need to pack reasonably light but don't want to end up freezing on the Tongariro crossing.....

Hiya,
I'm planning to travel around New Zealand from October until December & was wondering if it will be worth me getting a hostel card & if so which is the best to get? What are the pros & cons of each?
Thanks everyone! :)

Hi,
I am looking at booking a trip for 25 Days but would like to go to the top of the north Island. My best choice so far is the Short Maximus Pass, but does it include Midford Sound? As I here this is a place you do not want to miss out on! lol.
Cheers

Hey, i'm looking at the stray everywhere pass, starting November. Before i'd plan to start I'd be in New Plymouth and afterwards I plan to head back.... it says on the page you can start anywhere... where would be best to pick up the bus from, from there? Does the bus do any special stops? I get the impression from the itinery I'd be getting on at the "end" of the tour kind of thing, its an express back up to Auckland....
Thanks

Hi, I am planning to take the Stray everywhere pass in the end of November. I would like to ask you when does the special deal for 1495 dollars end?
I would also like to ask you if I get this right :)
If I hop off, I have to go online and reserve a seat on the next bus 48 h in advance?
And just one more thing, in November, December and begining of January, will I be able to hop back on the bus from any point in 2 days?
Thanks so much for your answer,
best regards, Sandra

I am planning to take the short Q pass and was wondering if the bus from Queenstown to Christchurch would stop at Mt cook (or the church of the good shepperd) for sightseeing, if not, can i book any tour on the bus for this? thanks

Hi, what's the best way to fix a broken piece of jade? I carved mine in Barrytown (really really fun) and it actually broke in Queenstown. I went to hang it in the shower and it fell on the tile floor breaking where the hole for the string to go into was. This really did not make me happy, but I'm sure it's not unheard of for jewelry to break. Maybe I could glue it back together? What kind of glue?

Hi
I am a 'young at heart' older traveller (aging hippy) and appreciate that most of your travellers are probably 18-35. Any forseeable problems for a lone older traveller (no health problems and reasonably fit)? I am considering the Moe pass Mid January to Mid February 2011
Thanks

Travelling shortly on one of the stray buses and don't know which is better to take - suitcase on wheels or a backpack? Also don't want to look like a princess with suitcase if anyone else has a backpack :-)

According to the pass page this pass takes four days starting October 6. What days will this pass depart Queenstown starting then and does it overnight in Dunedin?
Thank you!

Hi there,
I am new to this and would like to ask a few question about this pass.I am going to have 9 days in southern island and would like to spend a couple of days exploring as many places as possible.I was wondering if it's possible for me to go to Queenstown right after Franz Joseph if I do not want to stay over the night in Makarora. I would like to have three days in Queenstown before heading back to Christchurch.I just checked the timetable and it seem like if I stay at Makarora I would only have two days left in Queenstown which would be a shame.
Another question is about Tranzalpine pass, Would I be able to see the same scenic view if I go there by coach?
Thanks for your answer in advance.

Hello, I am looking to book the Peter pass in late August. I read elsewhere that Internet access is available at "99%" of your overnight stops, but I wanted to confirm that this is true for the Peter, particularly at or near the Maori cultural stay. Thanks!

Hi there. I am thinking of doing the north island at the start of October. What is the weather like then? Will I be able to do the tongariro crossing? Or will it still be good weather for snowboarding? Or both? Do you still do the crossing in October? How much does the crossing cost?
Thanks

we are planning a trip around New Zealand in February, starting in Auckland and finish in christchurch.
Is it possible to do the Max from Auckland to Christchurch or Kaikoura?
Cause we don't want to do all the tour back to the start.
